Since our establishment in 2019, HKCF has been committed to supporting the well-being of the community, where our community efforts included:

  • Donating over 500,000 masks to medical centers and providing essential amenities to those in need to fight against COVID-19.
  • Showing our appreciation for healthcare workers and other front-line workers in Hong Kong through different campaigns and events during the pandemic, to foster positivity and unity in the community.
  • Collaborating with various community partners to provide 10,000 meal boxes as well as learning resources to facilitate continuous learning.

At HKCF, we believe that every act of kindness can make a difference in someone's life. We are committed to promoting love and care in Hong Kong, and empowering individuals to create positive change in their communities. Join us in our mission to build a better, more harmonious future for all.

Chairman, Hong Kong Community Foundation

Mr Daryl Ng is the Founding Chairman of the Hong Kong Community Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation promoting positivity, inclusion and care to build a better and more compassionate community.

Under his leadership, the organisation has spearheaded various meaningful community-building programmes, such as essential supplies donations against COVID-19 for medical practitioners; the #ClapforHK and #ShareASmile campaigns; and publications of “The Story of the Sand and Sea People”, a book about inclusion and mutual respect, as well as of “Chinese Stories”, a collection of engaging tales that promote and inspire a love for Chinese culture and history.

Key philanthropic initiatives
Hong Kong Innovation Foundation
Mr Ng has set up the Hong Kong Innovation Foundation to support Hong Kong’s development into an international Innovation & Technology hub. The foundation provides a holistic ecosystem encompassing complimentary coding and STEAM education, proprietary inventions, sandbox platforms, experiential programmes and co-working spaces to serve different sectors.  .
City Air Purification System 2.0 (CAPS 2.0)
Mr Ng encourages proprietary innovations, notable examples include the patented and award-winning City Air Purification System (CAPS), the novel in-building hydropower system that generates electricity with unused waterhead in pipes and purification of food waste filtrate with micro-algae. The second generation of CAPS received Gold Medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva in 2019 and Green Good Design Award in 2021. 
University Competition Sponsorships
Mr Ng encourages collaborative programmes with universities, such as the HKUST-Sino One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition and HKU DreamCatchers, designed to foster next-generation innovative solutions; and the HKIF Robotic Architecture Series with HKU, which provides young talent a platform for exploring robotic architecture.
The Spirit of Hong Kong Awards
Mr Ng has been instrumental to the Spirit of Hong Kong Awards, a campaign launched in 2013 by Sino Group in collaboration with South China Morning Post.  He serves on the judging panel of the annual awards, recognising and celebrating Hong Kong’s unsung heroes who have made a positive impact on others, and whose actions inspire many more to make a difference in the community.
Youth Development
Mr Ng is a steadfast advocate of good causes for the community’s betterment and sustainable development. He is enthusiastic about supporting the youth, initiating an array of programmes that empower and equip the next generation with essential skills, such as Go Code, the Sino Junior Reporter Programme, and the Hospitality Young Leaders Programme.
Heritage Conservation
Mr Ng leads efforts to conserve and celebrate culture and history, as seen in the Tai O Heritage Hotel in Hong Kong, the restoration of the Great Wall and Yanxi Gong (Palace of Prolonging Happiness) in Beijing, The Fullerton Heritage in Singapore, and The Fullerton Hotel Sydney in Australia.
Silver Bauhinia Star - Awarded by the HKSAR Government in 2021, in recognition of his contributions to the community, particularly his work on heritage conservation in Tai O and overseas.
Insignia of Knight in the National Order of Merit - Conferred by the French Government in 2021, in recognition of his contributions to heritage conservation and youth development.
